NEWMAC Announces Spring Academic All-Conference Squads
The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) recently announced its 2008 Spring Academic All-Conference Teams. Twenty-four Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the women's lacrosse, women's outdoor track and field and women's rowing.

Outdoor Track and Field Competes in New England Regional Championships
Several members of the Mount Holyoke College women's outdoor track and field team competed in the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships this weekend at the Coast Guard Academy. Of the 28 teams earning points at the event, the Lyons finished in 22nd place. Williams College was the overall team champion.

Track and Field Posts Sixth Place Finish at NEWMAC Championships
The Wheaton College women's outdoor track and field team edged Springfield College by just two points to capture the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship today at Smith College. Wheaton, which regained the title that it held from 1998-2006, totaled 205 points.

Outdoor Track and Field Competes in Aloha Relays
The Mount Holyoke College women's outdoor track and field team competed in the Aloha Relays at Bowdoin College this weekend. Several Lyons posted outstanding results at the event, which was the squad's final tune-up before next Saturday's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships at Smith College.

2008 Mount Holyoke Invitational
For the first time in ten years, Mount Holyoke College hosted an outdoor track and field meet today. Joining the Lyons in the Mount Holyoke Invitational were the University of Southern Maine Huskies, the Smith College Pioneers and the Wellesley College Blue. It was the first competition at the College's recently constructed outdoor track and field complex and first meet on Mount Holyoke's campus since the NEW 8 Championships on April 26, 1997.

Outdoor Track & Field Opens Season at Jerry Gravel Classic
The Mount Holyoke College women's outdoor track and field team kicked off its 2008 slate at the Jerry Gravel Classic hosted by Westfield State College today, taking third place overall. Leading the way for the Lyons was senior Grace Zeigler, who grabbed first place in both the 100-meter dash (13.62) and the long jump (4.65 meters).

Demba and Lynch Excel at ECAC Championships
Seven members of the Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team participated in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships this weekend at Harvard University. Leading the way for the Lyons were seniors Meghan Lynch and Halaina Demba.

Lynch Grabs School Record at New England Championships
Senior Meghan Lynch set a new school record in the 5,000-meter run this weekend at the New England Championships at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. The Mount Holyoke runner took 13th place overall at the event, recording a time of 18:12.63. Her time was 24 seconds faster than her previous personal best and 12 seconds faster than the old program record.

Indoor Track & Field Competes in NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships
The Mount Holyoke College indoor track and field team took part in the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships today at Smith College's Tartan Track. Senior Catherine Riffin put the exclamation point on the event for the Lyons, setting a new school record in the 5,000-meter run. Her time of 18:24.87 was good for ninth place overall.

The Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team capped off its regular season with a bang, racking up 13 personal records this afternoon at the non-scoring Massachusetts Institute of Technology Invitational in the Howard W. Johnson Athletic Center.

Indoor Track & Field Nabs Sixth Place at Smith Tartan Invitational
The Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team grabbed a sixth place finish at today's Tartan Invitational at Smith College. Taking home first place at the event with 154.50 points was the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Amherst College finished second with 92 points, while Keene State College rounded out the top three with 85 points.

Indoor Track & Field Grabs Tenth Place at Tufts Invitational
Facing off against some of the toughest competition from around the region, the Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team earned a tenth place finish at today's Tufts University Invitational at the Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center. Senior Meghan Lynch highlighted the day for the Lyons, racing to a first place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Her time of 18:36.71 was a new school record and qualified her for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship.

Indoor Track & Field Excels at Wesleyan
The Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team posted superb results at today's non-scoring Wesleyan Invitational at the Wesleyan Bacon Field House. Senior Catherine Riffin highlighted the day by establishing a new school record in the 5,000-meter run. Her time of 18:54.04 was good for second place overall in the event.

The Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team picked up a sixth place finish today at the Reggie Poyau Memorial, hosted by Brandeis University. Several Lyons achieved personal records at the meet, which included ten squads from around the region.

The Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team participated in the 39th annual Dartmouth College Relays this weekend, which took place in the Leverone Field House. Competing against some of the top track athletes from around the nation, several Lyons achieved personal records and recorded qualifying times.

Several members of the Mount Holyoke College women's indoor track and field team posted outstanding individual performances at the non-scoring Smith College Winter Classic today. Leading the way for the Lyons was senior Halaina Demba, who took top honors in the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:12.06.

Indoor Track & Field Team Set to Start Season
The Mount Holyoke College indoor track and field team will get its season underway tomorrow at the Wesleyan University Invitational. Coming off a successful 2006-07 campaign, head coach Jason Hewitt is confident that his squad can once again challenge for regional honors this season. Now in his fourth year at the helm of the Lyons indoor program, Hewitt has assembled his largest squad. With added depth comes a heightened expectation that the team can reach new levels of success in 2007-08.
