2008 Volleyball Blog - Week 2

by Chelsea Tracy - Tuesday, September 23, 2008

This Friday night, as previously promised, the volleyball team went to the Big E! We all had a great time and were all very excited to be able to do something together other than volleyball. Most of us didn’t know what to expect, having never been to the Big E. Some were excited about the rides, others were excited about the State Houses, but I would say the majority of us (myself included) were most excited about the extremely healthy fair food. Funnel cake, cotton candy and candy apples. Oh my! Ok, so maybe not so healthy.

I would say the most exciting ride was the Polar Express. Kara, Amanda and I were all in one car, while Brenna and Kateryna were in another. For those who don’t know, the Polar Express is a circle of cars that spin around as loud music is played overhead. Low and behold, as the cars start to spin, one has little to no control over one’s body and the way in which it may be leaning. Needless to say, as Kara, Amanda and I spun around, both Kara and I were crying from laughter as Amanda screamed, “You aren’t even trying to get off me!” From what I hear, Kateryna and Brenna had a similar experience.

Volleyball Team Fun

Overall, whether it’s the amazing and unique food you can get from the State Houses, the adorable animals you can see at the Farm exhibits or the endless amounts of junk food you can purchase, the Big E is something everyone should do at least once in their life - if not 100 times. We all had a fun time and are now ready to continue on with our season. We hope to use this bonding experience to further our team dynamic on the court.
