The Legacy of Diversity Endowed Fund

The Legacy of Diversity initiative not only honors ALANA alumnae of the past but also provides valuable support for future generations of ALANA students by helping to fund scholarships and defray costs associated with travel abroad and internships for ALANA students.

Marisa Lum

Stephanie Nguyen '14
Legacy of Diversity Internship Fund Recipient, Summer 2013

Stephanie is a Frances Perkins Scholar majoring in International Relations, focusing on international ethics and post-conflict reconstruction. She gained valuable experience this past January as an intern at the Justice Department at the Office of the Public Defender in Tbilisi, Georgia. As this year's recipient of the Legacy of Diversity Fund, Stephanie will take part in a summer internship with the International Center's Vietnam Veterans Foundation of America program in Hanoi. She hopes to use her knowledge of the Vietnamese language in achieving a deeper understanding of how action plans following conflict are developed and implemented, and additionally, how NGOs function in an effort to strengthen transnational relationships.
