CDC Award Recipient Requirements

In 2011, the Career Development Center funded 100 student internships and research projects for a total of over $270,000.  Students funded by the CDC participated in summer experiences in a number of different industries, both in the U.S. and abroad.  Students who receive summer funding through the CDC must complete the following requirements:   

Prior to Receiving the Award

Students are required to register their internship or research project with the CDC prior to receiving an award and before the start of the internship/research project.   To register your internship or research project, you must complete the following materials:

  • Intern Enrollment Form (online, student)
    Deadline: April 9, 2012 
    This form is different and separate from the Internship Network Enrollment form
  • Internship Host Registration Form (online, host/supervisor)
    Deadline: April 16, 2012
    This online form must be completed by your internship/research host organization or supervisor.

After Completing Your Internship

  • You must complete the internship or research project and all of its requirements satisfactorily. Otherwise, you may be asked to repay the award monies you received.
  • Students who receive an Internship or Research Fellowship from the CDC are required to complete all forms relevant to the internship or research process and experience.  An award recipient’s fall semester registration may be held until the Career Development Center receives the following completed forms:
    • Informational Interview Form  (online, student)
      Deadline: September 1
      Conduct at least one (1) in-person 20-minute interview during your internship; see Informational Interview Guidelines. Submit a write-up of your informational interview through this CDC online form or email to Jenny Watermill as an attachment.
    • Student Internship Final Report (online, student)
      Deadline: September 1
    • Intern Performance Evaluation Form (online, host/supervisor)
      Deadline: September 1
    • Report to Donor (online, student)
      Deadline: September 1
      Completed by the student only if it is required as part of your award (not all CDC fellowships require a donor report). Directions will be provided upon receipt of award funding.
