CDC Awards

These awards are made available through generous alumnae, their families, and other friends of the College. Summer fellowships offered by the Career Development Center are awarded on a competitive basis.

  • Award amounts will generally be issued for $3,000 (domestic project) or $3,500 (overseas project) for opportunities over 8 weeks in duration; $1500 awards will generally be issued for domestic projects under 8 weeks or $2,000 for international projects under 8 weeks.
  • Some fellowships are open only to students pursuing internships or research projects in specific fields or geographic location (i.e. public service, biomedical research, politics, Washington, D.C., journalism, etc.); others are general internship fellowships and may apply to broad career interests or majors.
  • Students who have successfully completed or are currently enrolled in the two credit course COLL210, “Ready for the World: Curriculum to Career” will receive a “plus factor” in application fellowship decisions issued by the Career Development Center in recognition of the student’s commitment, through COLL210, to maximize her preparation and success for her summer opportunity. Students who are currently enrolled in COLL210 at the time of UAF award decisions must successfully complete the course in order to maintain their fellowship, otherwise the fellowship may be revoked.
