For Faculty Recommenders

Accessing the UAF Application Form to Submit a Recommendation*:

Access the UAF Application Form by logging into ISIS and selecting "UAF Application Faculty Recommendation Form" from the list of options.

Instructions for Providing a Student Recommendation:

Please note: the student must first enter your MHC user name as part of her application, in order for you to submit your recommendation online through ISIS.  If the student's name does not appear when you log into ISIS, then you should contact the student and ask her to enter your name as part of the application form and make her application available to you by hitting ‘submit’ on her application form.

The UAF faculty recommendation form is simple and will give you access to both the student's academic record and her application essay. You will be asked to comment on two questions:

In one paragraph, please comment on the student's academic abilities.  For your convenience, a link will be provided to her academic record, but because the UAF committee has access to this record, we are most interested in your comments relating to her performance in particular situations (e.g., classes, independent study, employment) in which you have known her.

In a second paragraph, please comment on the feasibility of her summer research or internship project and how it will impact her educational pathway at the College and/or her career goals. If the student is proposing a research project, please tell us whether the work is feasible in the period of time the student has allocated to it.Please also indicate whether the student has the maturity and motivation to be successful in completing the research project or internship.

For any questions regarding submitting a UAF recommendation, please contact Megan Pierson, Associate Director, Experiential Learning.

*Special Note for Non-MHC Faculty:

When a student selects a non-MHC recommender, the online UAF Application system will send an email to the recommender with a link to the Faculty Recommendation Form. Non-MHC Faculty will not have access to the student's transcript. Students have been instructed to provide this separately to their non-MHC faculty recommenders.
