Internship and Research Opportunities:
Workshop and Information Sessions Schedule - Spring 2012

Multiple workshops, information sessions, and advising sessions are offered through out the year to help you find and secure an internship or research opportunity or summer funding through MHC’s Universal Application Form (UAF). Students who attend these sessions will be at an advantage in their search for an opportunity and in their development of a UAF proposal.

General Workshops on Finding an Internship

This workshop will focus on the basics of how to prepare and begin your internship or research search process. You will also get an orientation to MHC sponsored internship and research programs, the MHC summer internship and research funding program, and general resources available through the CDC to support your process.

Program Specific Internship and Research Information Sessions

There are a number of MHC sponsored internship and research programs that are developed through departments and centers across campus.  Some departments will lead a specific session on their programs.  If you don’t see a session hosted on program you are interested in we encourage you to contact the program administrator with any questions.

UAF General Information Sessions

Mount Holyoke provides funding for summer research and internship projects in all disciplines through a competitive application process known as the Universal Application Form (UAF). These information sessions will explain the variety of internship, research, and program funding opportunities available to MHC students, and the UAF application cycle and deadlines.

UAF Workshops on How to Apply and Prepare Your Application

These workshops are designed to help students understand the overall UAF application process and specific guidelines for responding to each component of the UAF application.  Students who attend these workshops will be at an advantage in preparing a successful application.

UAF Application Support Resources

Students are strongly encouraged to attend at least one general UAF Information Session and an Application Preparation workshop listed above. In addition, students should discuss their project ideas and request feedback on their proposals from faculty, mentors, advisors, and CDC counselors. The CDC will also offer individual drop-in sessions daily for several weeks before the UAF deadline to provide feedback to students on their written proposals.
