Ellen M. Cosgrove '84

Ellen Cosgrove is associate dean and dean of students at Harvard Law School. Ellen graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1984 and spent several years in corporate and investment banking prior to attending law school. After graduating from the University of Chicago Law School, she practiced at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae L.L.P. in New York. She returned to the University of Chicago Law School in 1995 as associate dean and dean of students where she worked for nine years. During her tenure at Chicago, she chaired the Law School’s year long centennial celebration.  Ellen moved to Harvard Law School in 2004.  At both Chicago and Harvard, Ellen has been singled out by the graduating class for her contributions to the law school.  She has served as a member of the Association of American Law Schools' Executive Committee for Student Services and is a frequent speaker at their conferences.

Ellen was elected by the alumnae to serve a five year term as alumna trustee. As an alumna, Ellen has been a member of the Alumnae Association's board of directors, chaired the Alumnae Association's Strategic Planning Committee, served on the Program NomAT and Executive Director Search Committees. She was class reunion chair for her 2nd, 5th, 15th and 20th reunions, and was president of the Mount Holyoke Club of Chicago from 1996 to 2004. She received the Alumnae Medal of Honor in 1999.
