Introduction
This handbook is a
rich compendium introducing everything from who’s who in
Mary Lyon Hall to what elfing is all about. The Student Handbook
is also, and most importantly, required reading on the honor code
and other campus policies—the rules by which we govern our
lives here. Finally, it is an invaluable reference on the myriad
services and opportunities that are available to students, whatever
their needs or ambitions.
Those new to Mount
Holyoke College should read it with care. However, returning students
should also study this handbook—to review and rediscover
its contents and to find out what is new. I hope that these pages
will not only inform but also encourage and inspire readers to
explore the College fully and to recognize and celebrate both
the privileges and the responsibilities that we all share as members
of this learning community.
