Exercise A. (projectile motion): Load your CD, go to the "Visualize calculus" section, then Chapter 9.

Watch the archery video

Open the "projectile motion" applet. Set the intial velocity = 45. (1) Find the angle which produces the maximum range (horizontal distance x). What is this distance? (2) Find two angles which give a range of x = 50. (3) Are your two results consistent with the formulas on p. 752?
