Assignments: There are three types of assignments:

Graders: Ventseslava Encheva (email enche20v), Tho Ngo (email nog20t).

Technology: You should have a scientific calculator (one able to calculate trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions). Graphing calculators are not required. (In fact there are some nice online ones; see below)

Quizzes and Tests: There will be a quiz every Wednesday, except when there is a test. The questions on the quizzes will be drawn from the recommended problems. There are three tests (in class) and a self-scheduled final exam. All quizzes and tests are closed book. If you are unable to take a quiz or test for any reason, you should consult with me beforehand. (You may call my answering machine at x2299 at any time, day or night.) They can always be taken early. Tests taken late for reasons other than illness will have points deducted from your score.

Placement test: Everybody who has not done so should take the placement test. To find it, TBA

Evening help sessions: Sunday through Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in Clapp 401.

Grading: The three tests and the final are 12% each. The quizzes count 20% (and the lowest quiz score is dropped). The homework counts 25%, and the challenge problems 7%.
