From August 3 through August 30, 2007

Nine Mount Holyoke College and two Hampshire College students currently enrolled in Educational Studies 301, Education in South Africa, led by Professor Bev and Dave Bell (native South Africans), will be journeying to Pretoria, South Africa where they will learn to teach in inner city schools. They will also spend time working at the Centre for the Study of Aids at the University of Pretoria. We would like to offer our sincere appreciation to all those who donated supplies to our pen and pencil drive to support the schools in which our students will be teaching. Many of the students live below the poverty line, and don’t even have their own pen or pencil. As a result of your generosity we have collected enough supplies to leave one item with each student when we return to the USA.
