Welcome!
Welcome to the online edition of the 2006 Blackstick Review. Print
copies of the Review will be available at the English Department
picnic on May 9, 2006,
and will also be available afterwards for viewing in the archives
of Mount Holyoke's Williston Library.
The Blackstick Review is the culmination of the efforts of the
students in Professor Corinne
Demas's English 303 class on short story writing.
The
stories in the Review were all written this semester, beginning
as drafts and evolving into the pieces you see here. Students had
the opportunity to read their stories from the course out loud at the Stimson
Room tea on Wednesday, May 3, 2006.
As you will learn in our about section, the Blackstick
Review began
as an exclusive literary society at the College in the early
twentieth century.
It was revived in 2004 as the name for the publication of that year's English
303 class.
All questions regarding the Review should be directed to Corinne Demas, Professor of English at Mount Holyoke College.
