Ari Baum-Hommes, Print Layout Director

AriBaumHommesAri Baum-Hommes is from Northampton, Massachusetts. She is currently a junior at Mount Holyoke College and graduating in 2010. She is majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in English. She has taken several writing courses while studying at Brandeis University and here at Mount Holyoke, but this is the first time she's had her work in print.

 

 

 

 

Amy Huang, Contributor

AmyHuangAmy Huang is a senior English major at Amherst College with a concentration in fiction writing and post-colonial literary studies. For her honors thesis, she completed a manuscript of short stories. She is from Brooklyn, New York and enjoys travel and cooking.

 

 

 

Laura Nasr, Editor

LauraNasrLaura Nasr is from Rochester, New York and is a junior (class of 2010) at Mount Holyoke. She is an English major and a philosophy minor, writes poetry as well as fiction, and is particularly interested in modernist poetry. She also plays the viola in the Mount Holyoke College Orchestra.

 

 

Alex Sladky, Editor

AlexSladkyAlex Sladky was born in Texas and raised in Georgia. She is a junior at Mount Holyoke College, where she studies Latin and writing, with an emphasis on the short story. She is interested in the ways in which classical literature influences contemporary writing.

 

 

 

Sarah Brady Stack, Web Director

Sarah Brady StackSarah Brady Stack is a Junior at Mount Holyoke College, majoring in English. Originally from Miami, Florida, Sarah Brady has also more recently lived in Carlisle, Arkansas. She is currently working on publishing a children’s anthology with stories written by college students for underprivileged children. In addition to her literary interests, Sarah Brady is also a member of her college’s comedy improv troupe, the Unusual Suspects. This is the first time that her work has appeared in print.

 

 

Charis Tarbett, Publication Coordinator

CharisTarbettCharis Tarbett is a Frances Perkins Scholar. She is currently completing her Junior year at Mt. Holyoke and is majoring in English. She writes short stories and poetry, and plans to pursue a career in creative writing.

 

 

 

 

Martha Whatley, Contributor

MarthaWhatleyMartha Whatley has just finished her junior year abroad at Mount Holyoke College and will begin the final year of her degree, in English and American Literature with Creative Writing, at the University of Kent in September. She currently writes for Disorder magazine in London and also Planet Loud, and has previously  done placements at both the NME and Kingfisher Book Publishing. Right now, she is working on a novella and will begin a career within the creative industries upon graduation.

 

Zoe Yang, Web and Layout Director

ZoeYangZoe Yang is a junior at Mount Holyoke College from Cambridge, Massachusetts majoring in Psychology and minoring in English. Zoe has enjoyed exploring English, Psychology, Philosophy, and Computer Science. Creative writing has always been an interesting and rewarding journey for her, and is one of her greatest passions. When she can, she goes home to write in the city where the cars and lives are loud and there is always something to observe. Her stories are inspired by everything from abstract concepts, daydreams and new experiences to friends and day to day life. “Road Trip” was inspired by a dream she had one night.
