After you begin reading Lotte will Prinzessin sein und Kein Schnaps für Tamara this semester, you will be participating in a weekly discussion forum on the Web. You will respond to questions related to Lotte will Prinzessin sein und Kein Schnaps für Tamara, or other topics covered in class. To enter the Web-Diskussionsforum for German 101 you can either type in the URL listed above, or click on Web-Diskussionsforum on the German 101 homepage. On the Web-Diskussionsforum page you will see Frage #1, #2, etc. in black and the question itself in red. You should type your response in the form (box) below and supply any additional information requested (name, E-mail, etc.) before you submit it.
On Thursday of every week (date of first question to be announced!) there will be a question posted on the Web-Diskussionsforum site for Deutsch 101. Enter your response to the question (auf deutsch!) and submit it by 5:00 p.m. on Monday of the following week. If you are unable to respond by this time due to illness or an emergency, you must contact your instructor. Otherwise you will not receive credit and your grade will be affected.
In addition to posting your weekly response/reaction to the Diskussionsfrage, you will also be able to list a URL or web site that you find interesting or useful, particularly if the URL has some (even remote) connection to the weekly Diskussionsfrage. This "link" to another site on the Web will appear on the Web-Diskussionforum site following your posting and will earn you extra credit points.
After reading the weekly postings of your fellow 101ers, you may also want to post a follow-up or response to someone's contribution/response. Feel free to do so as often as you wish. If you submit follow-up postings in response to a fellow 101er's entry, you will also receive extra credit points!
We're certain that you will find the Web-Diskussionsforum valuable and an interesting way to "discuss" the readings in the course and to interact with your fellow 101ers.
