| As part of their course work, students of sociology 224 had to complement the qualitative project of the collective interview with a quantitative one. For this latter part, they decided to investigate the changes in the academic curriculum since Mount Holyoke’s founding in 1837. Three distinct time periods were established that corresponded roughly to the time that Mount Holyoke operated as a seminary, its first years as a college, and the years after the first male president was inaugurated. |
