(Community-based learning course) This course in archival and field research methods uses a sociological lens to magnify issues in research design for nonquantitative data. In this community-based learning experience, students will use resources from their own "community" to describe and contextualize the idea of a community. There will be hands-on experience with primary documents from the Mount Holyoke College Archives, as well as interview material that students will collect, transcribe, and analyze themselves. There is a prerequisite of 8 credits in sociology.
