Mission Statement

We, the students of the Environmental Studies Senior Seminar hope to educate and inspire students, faculty and staff of Mount Holyoke College through our efforts and research contained within this website. We aim to achieve a more sustainable campus by promoting environmental responsibility, conservation of resources, energy efficiency, and increased reliance on renewable energy sources.

Energy- to utilize appropriate technology for significantly reducing energy consumption and operational costs


Materials and Resources – to minimize the use of non-renewable resources and to maximize the incorporation of sustainable materials throughout the project


Air Quality – to minimize negative impacts on interior air quality


Health – to improve the health, motivation and productivity of building users through the creation of improved, highly flexible environments
