18. Available now is a list of criteria for a "good" set of axioms. There is a list from the fall term 2002 Math 120 students and, for comparison, another list from the spring 1999 students. See AXIOMATICS.
17. Click on ASSESS for a chart describing the relative weights assigned to each of the various types of work in the course.
16. The lecture described below will replace our usual class this Thursday, November 7. As such, it will be required, with attendance taken.
Preparation at <http://www.cut-the-knot.org/triangle/Morley/index.shtml>.

11. The first class after Fall Break, Thursday, October 17, will be held in the Reese Mac Lab, which is reserved for Math 120 that day. You should work on Lab 7 during that class.

9. I wrote previously on this page that Fractals would be taught during Spring term 2003. This is not the case.
8. Policy for homework, starting with HW#8: Now that most of you are accustomed to doing the homework in a timely fashion, I'm going to stop automatically collecting and responding to your homework efforts. The default option is to put your homework into your portfolio unless I specifically ask that it be turned in on paper or by e-mail. I'll collect portfolios soon after Fall Break. You should be thinking about how much relative weight the portfolios, class participation, and projects should be accorded for a grade in the course. Also, think about whether other factors should be included in the determination of a course grade. As a substitute for speaking and volunteering in class, you can e-mail me your observations and questions and respond to my questions about the HW you submit.
7. There is now a page containing a list of the current elementary folding moves with the statement of the newest addition to be revised as part of HW#9.
6. There is now an assignment for HW#8, due by Monday, September 30, in addition to the Lab 3 exercises
5. The Communication page now includes an active DISCUSSION.
4. My office hours are T, Th: 10-11 and M: 3:30-5 in the lovely (really!) #1 Woodbridge, which is on the corner directly across from the U.S. post office.
3. Previous announcements are in an announcement ARCHIVE.
2. I will be setting times for office hours; e-mail me any requests for times that you have.
1. Monday night classes are scheduled from 7:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mac Lab, 317 Reese.
