Traditional Islamic design work can be viewed in many ways. For a Sketchpad enthusiast such designs can provide challenging and inspirational construction projects. Below is an illustration of such a project. It starts with an image of tile work photographed in the Alhambra, and it continues with some Sketchpad exploration.

There are lots of ways to view the image, but one way is to see it as a "seed," which is rotated, and then the result shifted many times to produce a result similar to the image. Here's the way that process proceeds. First, the seed: (There are several possibilities.)
