January 30	Read our syllabus on ella and read sections 12.1 and 12.2 of the text. Please let me know if you have any questions about course structure. February 2	Read section 12.3. Discussion problems for 2/4: 12.3: 9, 11, 16. (See ella.)
February 4	Read section 12.4. 15 minute quiz on calculus skills. You should be familiar with the chain rule, the product rule, the quotient rule, derivatives of exponential functions, logarithms, sine and cosine, and polynomials. You should also be familiar with finding antiderivatives using u-substitution and integration by parts. These are the skills from Calculus I and II that you need to be successful in this course. Here are some sample problems. I will hand the quizzes back on Friday. If your score indicates that you need to review some topics, please see me. You may take a make-up quiz after class on 2/13 and I will count the higher of the two scores. Discussion problems for 2/6: 12.4: 4, 6, 30. (No ella work.)

March 2	Read section 14.6. The take-home portion of the exam will be given out today. You are on your honor not to discuss the exams with anyone with me. You may study for the exam with others and discuss old quizzes, old homeworks, class notes, and the sections of the course text that we have covered. Updated 3/2: The exam is due in class on Friday at 11am. (You have a grace period until 1pm Friday to hand it in.)

March 6	The in-class portion of Exam I will be given in Clapp 402. You will have from 11 until 12:15 for the exam. Exam I covers the following sections: 12.1-12.5, 13.1-13.4, 14.1-14.4. No notes, books, or computational aids are allowed. Discussion problems for 3/9: 14.6: 32, 34. (See ella.)

May 4	Read 20.4. The final exam for this course is self-scheduled. It is cumulative, including all sections covered on the exams plus sections 18.1-18.3, 19.1, 19.2, 20.1-20.4.
May 6	Last day of class. We will review for the final. Here are some practice problems for sections 20.2-20.4. 20.2: 7, 9, 11, 33, 20.3: 21, 27, 20.4: 19, 21. You are allowed to bring one handwritten 3x5 notecard to the final exam. You must turn in the card along with any scratch work with your exam.
