Course description:
This course covers Chapter 1-6 of Nakama, providing basic skills  for conversation, reading, and writing.  Hiragana and Katakanawill be introduced.  This course will stress active command of Japanese, not passive knowledge.  The aim is not simply to acquire the knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, but the ability to USE  Japanese.

 *Daily attendance is expected and very important.  Let us know
in advance if you will be absent from a college related activity.
Come to the class on time.  If you're late more than twice,
 some points will be subtracted from your total points.

 *No make up for quizzes, tests, and exams without
a legitimate reason.

*Homework and composition must be submitted on time.
 Otherwise,  there will be deduction.  No grade will be
 given to homework which is more than 2 days late.
