Multimedia Narration (Digital Story Telling) Project for French 311 spring 09

The multimedia narration project will be your term paper and students will pair in groups of 2 for each project.  Please plan early and finish each phase of your project on time.

Work involved with the multimedia narration project:

  1. Write a script for the movie = a written essay that has to be approved by  the professor.
  2. Prepare a phonetic version of your script = you transcribe it in phonetics symbols, and read it to your professor before recording it in iMovie.
  3. Collect about 50 images from DVD, VHS tapes, the Web or material in print and images stored in ELLA
  4. Write a bibliography to document your sources (images, music, texts)
  5. Prepare the images in Photoshop (JPEG format, 640 x 480)
  6. Create an iMovie project by importing the selected images
  7. Record your script in iMovie.
  8. Customize your iMovie project in iDVD
  9. Burn your DVD
  10. Present your project in class

You will present your movies in class on Tuesday, May 5

Your Tech Mentor is Kim Allen, (allen22k@mtholyoke.edu) In addition to running workshops for images, iMovie and iDVD, Kim will help students prepare class presentations and multimedia projects, using PowerPoint, Photoshop, Ella iMovie and iDVD.
Kim's office hours are 1:00 – 3:30, Thursday & 1:00 - 3:00 Sunday at MEWs and she also makes individual appointments via email.

Instructions on class presentations:

For your weekly class presentations, create a PowerPoint presentaion (using no more than 10 images) and upload it in your workspace in EllA. Download it in class to do your presentation.
