Important
policies:
1.
Attendance
and participation are required.
That
said, you have 3 "free" absences
to use for emergencies, minor illnesses, being stranded off campus by a snow
storm, and the like. You need not explain these
absences, but you should spend
them wisely. Each additional
unexcused absence will lower your class performance grade by one-half grade.
Excused absences are for:
a.
A required, college sponsored activity such as travel for a
sports team or a choir performance, or a required class
trip (consult with your professor ahead
of time to make-up work).
b.
Extended or severe
sickness. (Immediately consult with your professor and class dean).
c.
Other emergencies,
if sanctioned by the Dean of the
College or the Dean of Studies.
If you are absent, contact another student
in the course about what you missed. If you have lingering questions
after rereading
the assignment, please bring them to office hoursÑor suggest a time for an
appointment.
2.
