Ch 27 (due Friday, the 20th):
"QUESTIONS-6-AND-8" (p. 725) counts as one problem,
Problems 7,18,24,26,30,40,61
(recently due)
Ch 26: 4, 11, 16, 23, 35, 51
Ch 27: 8
hint for 26.35:
As a first crude approximation to Fig 26-30 (p. 702),
look at Fig 26-35 (p. 703) but pointing in the other direction.
What is the equivalent resistance assuming each cylinder
has the same material and same length?
Now for your problem 26.35,
what is the radius as a function of x, where 0 < x < L?
PHYSICS: Use that to write the equivalent resistance as an integral.
MATH: Use substitution to help do the integral...
otherwise you'll have to be very careful with the algebra.
