There is a distinct pattern in world history of overcompensation for past mistakes, resulting in policy makers having a narrow view of the world. Specifically, during the event of war, decision-makers through out the world have stringently applied lessons learned from history to current moments in time not always resulting in the best possible outcome. How can this be remedied? What are some past lessons learned form history? How does the context of a period effect methods of propagation?
