Mary Shelley was an exceptional woman of her time period who went against the constraints of society and lived a spontaneous life full of love and intellect among heartbreak and pitfalls. Her education, intellecutal influences, family and friends, ETC ETC ETC, Mary Shelley developed into the progressive woman she was when she wrote Frankenstein in 1817.
