Finding Science Internships

How To Begin

Here's the run-down on what you need to do to get your summer internship:

- If you don't have a current résumé, update it before doing anything else! There are several workshops held throughout the year at the CDC. Check their website to find out when they are scheduled.

- USE your network! Your professors, parents, parent's friends, classmates... almost anyone you know might have useful information. Take advantage of this!

- This website has links to many places where summer opportunities are offered; research online is always a good way to look up internships.

- Apply to MANY internships! Don't be discouraged if you get a few rejection letters. If you do, you can ask the organization why you weren't selected, it may help you improve your application.

- Apply EARLY! Deadlines for most summer internships are late February, March 1, and March 15.

- Be honest in your application and believe in yourself! =D
