Industrial Internships
Company internships generally pay more than academic internships but they often do not include housing. Using alumnae connections is an excellent way to get these internships. The following are companies which have given MHC students internship in the past 5 years. It is better to send your résumé to an individual at the company rather than to human resources. This is true also when you are applying for jobs.
Peterson's Engineering, Science, and Computer Jobs is a very useful book for finding companies. It lists all companies in the US hiring in these areas. Many of these companies offer summer internships or you can ask them to create one for you. Many MHC students have started internship programs at companies by using their initiative. This book can be found in the Career Development Center. Most companies now have web pages that you can use to find out more about them.
