When the causes of the Great Depression were listed in class, it seemed like all of the different causes worked with one another to create a downward spirral. Like the US became a superpower, US complanies overseas had more confidence because of the superpower status, and thus the market became inflated because of these expectations. Which got me to think about whether the Great Depression could have been avoided. From the lecture on Tuesday it seemed like the Great Depression, really had been coming for so long, that it was like a freight train that couldnt be stopped.
Could the Great Depression have been avoided?
