Grapes of wrath

Posted by Dalisa Gomez on November 20, 2002 at 13:11:00:

Hi guys,
I need to clear up a couple of points. Was the land the Joad's property or did it belong to someone else. What i understood from Monday;s class was that agriculture is dominated by non capitalistic producers, such as self-employed fuedal farming, etc. so why did they have to get off their land if it was actually theirs? was it because they couldn't pay their landlords what they had borowed to produce? I am conffused! and also i didn't really catch the relationship that they had with their landlord. Can someone clarify this please. Thank you
Dalisa Gomez
