The first three books in group one cover the entire course, therefore you should focus your attention and read thouroughly those pieces as we discuss certain topics, which is indicated in the chapter division. The other books in Group I are introductory to Zen. Please read several and receive overall picture of Zen Buddhism. Group II books are related to specific topics, they are very useful, if you are interested in the topics or making it a special research project.
