MCCL reviews proposals once each fall and spring to distribute the annual funds sponsored by the Office of the President and the Dean of the College. (See also the list of rolling awards funded by IIF)

IIF Grants Awarded in 2006-2007

For its late-fall, 2006 round of funding from the Inclusiveness Initiatives Fund the MCCL received 19 proposals for a total of $44,598. The requests were for projects that will take place in spring, 2007 (or in one case in fall, 2007). It was able to fund 16 of them for a total of $17,220.

    A socially conscious dance concert & collaborative community event to call attention to the present attrocities in Sudan and the related  deeply rooted issues of racism, classism, and sexism in our world

    Fund to bring Robin Roberts to campus as part of the “As Women of Color We Can: Be Healthy, Be Strong, Be One
  • The Global and the Intimate: Gender Studies in the Present Crisis of Citizenship – Award $2000 – Mary Renda
    Keynote event and keynote lecture (Angela Davis) and conversations with students in conjunction with conference on gender studies and citizenship.
  • 3 Day Workshop Series for ALANA first year students interested in the Sciences – Award $1000 – Lucy Sanchez '07

    Four prominent Muslim scholars and activists brought to campus for an all-day conference.
  • Sisters of Hinduism Reaching Inwards, Puja Deverakonda ’07 - $1,200
    Four workshops over the course of a weekend conference on MahaYoga, with keynote speaker, and amazing Indian food. Participants from all over the Northeast. Friday, April 20 - Sunday, April 22.
