Rami Khouri's Visit to MHC
Rami Khouri is the executive editor of the Daily Star in Beirut and frequent commentator on NPR and columnist in the major U.S. newspapers. He was in residence from November 15—19 and gave lectures, participated in panel discussions and classes, and gave seminars on critical issues in the Middle East, Iraq, and U.S. foreign policy.

Rami Khori

• Rami George Khouri, is a Palestinian-Jordanian whose family resides in Beirut, Amman, and Nazareth. He is an internationally syndicated political columnist and book author. In recent years he hosted "Encounter", a weekly current affairs talk show on Jordan Television, and "Jordan Ancient Cultures," a weekly archaeology program on Radio Jordan.
• Khouri spent the 2001-02 academic year as a Nieman Journalism Fellow at Harvard University and was appointed a member of the Brookings Institution Task Force on US Relations with the Islamic World. For 18 years he was general manager of Al Kutba, Publishers, in Amman, Jordan (Al Kutba was the Nabataean goddess of the scribes) and in 1999-2002 was a consultant to the Jordanian tourism ministry on biblical archaeological sites.
• He is a research associate at the Program on the Analysis and Resolution of Conflict at the Maxwell School, Syracuse University (NY, USA) and a Fellow of the Palestinian Academic Society for the Study of International Affairs (Jerusalem). He often comments on Mideast issues in the international media, and lectures frequently at conferences and universities throughout the world.
