Deadlines and Procedures for Applying to Study Abroad
Submit the completed Request to Study Abroad form to the McCulloch Center for Global Initiatives, 102 Porter Hall, according to these deadlines. All applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on the date indicated.
In some cases, we may be able to consider late applications for certain programs, if there is space available, and if you are not applying for a Laurel Fellowship. If you are interested in a program for which the deadline has passed, contact the McCulloch Center. Students appying for Laurel Fellowships must meet the stated Laurel deadlines.
For Spring 2010: Spaces are still available in the MHC programs in Montpellier, Dakar, and Monteverde. Apply by September 30, 2009, by following the procedures noted below.

Deadline: December 4, 2009, for Academic Year 2010-2011; March 31, 2010, for Spring 2011 (where applicable); for the summer program at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, the deadline is March 1, 2011 for summer 2011.
Students selected will be required to complete the appropriate university's own application form at a later date. Priority for exchange places at Bonn, Leipzig, and Potsdam (one per institution, for full-year study only) is given to students who are eligible for need-based financial aid. Bonn and Leipzig will also consider additional (non-exchange) applicants for the year or spring semester; students should follow the same application procedures here as for the exchange. The Berlin School of Economics and Law exchange is open to all qualified students regardless of their financial aid status. Full-year applicants should also submit an official Mount Holyoke transcript by February 1, spring applicants should submit a transcript by June 1. If you are approved by Mount Holyoke for the program, we will forward your application to the University of Indiana by the program deadlines of, respectively, February 15 and September 15. |

Deadline: March 1 for fall or full year, Novembr 1 for spring (though we recommend that students apply earlier for spring, by October 1).
Mount Holyoke’s approval for DIS constitutes your acceptance to the program; there is no separate DIS application form (though admitted students will need to pay a deposit and complete additional registration and housing forms). |

Upon approval by Mount Holyoke, students will complete the Sweet Briar application and submit it to the McCulloch Center by February 15 (for fall or full year) or June 1 (for spring). |

Submit Mount Holyoke's Request to Study Abroad form.
Deadline: March 1 for full year, or, where applicable, fall semester; November 1 for spring (where applicable).
You must also submit the university’s own application directly to the university according to its stated deadline. Note that some of these universities have early deadlines and/or may fill prior to the stated deadline, so we recommend that you apply early (by early February, for example, for fall admission). Students who meet the requirements stated by the host university and who apply in a timely way can generally expect to be accepted. |

Oxford (St. Anne's College), UK |
Submit the Request to Study Abroad Form and the Oxford University Visiting Student application to the McCulloch Center.
Deadline: December 4, 2009, for Academic Year 2010-2011, or spring 2011.
Mount Holyoke has an agreement with St. Anne’s College at Oxford to facilitate applications from our students. Oxford has a centralized application process through the Undergraduate Admission Office, and students may apply directly; however, students who wish to be considered for study at St. Anne’s through our agreement should apply through Mount Holyoke. We will review applications and forward them with our recommendation, if you meet the general requirements for Oxford (minimum grade point average of 3.7, at least four or five courses completed in the major by the end of sophomore year, strong recommendations, and a detailed plan of study). St. Anne's prefers students to come for the full year, but may consider applications for the spring two-term program. Students recommended by Mount Holyoke are not guaranteed admission, but generally will receive priority over equally-qualified applicants from non-affiliated schools. |

Cambridge (Murray Edwards College), UK |
Submit the Request to Study Abroad Form and the Murray Edwards College application for Junior Year Studies to the McCulloch Center.
Deadline: December 4, 2009, for Academic Year 2010-2011
Mount Holyoke has an agreement with Murray Edwards College (formerly New Hall) to nominate students for admission for Junior Year Studies. Students may apply to study in any of the liberal arts disciplines offered at Cambridge except Architecture, Philosophy, and Music. We will review applications and forward them with our nomination if you meet the general requirements for Cambridge (minimum grade point average of 3.8, at least four or five courses completed in the major by the end of sophomore year, strong recommendations, and a detailed plan of study). |
