Mount Holyoke College requires that anyone placing images or text on the Web site obey international copyright law.
Just because an image appears on someone else's Web page, that does not necessarily mean you aren't violating copyright law by including it on your page. If you didn't take the photo or draw it yourself, there is a very good chance someone holds the copyright to it!
Commonly copyrighted/trademarked images include: cartoon characters from comic strips and television; product logos; photographs from newspapers, magazines and books; [other examples]
Furthermore, using the Web site for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. This is not only limited to business ventures in which the individuals posting the information are involved, it also includes advertising for commercial products and services outside of the college.
