Incorporating News or Highlights

We created a special program, called news channels, that allows the MHC community to easily add News or Highlights to their homepages directly from a Web browser. You can set up the channel so that stories rotate on the page by priority and are then archived.

If you would like to incorporate a news channel on your site:

  1. Write to: webmaster@mtholyoke.edu
    - ask for a news channel to be set up for you.
    - provide a description of the purpose of your channel (what types of information you will be incorporating).
    - provide the exact location of the news channel; i.e.: Athletics http://www.mtholyoke.edu/athletics/.
    - include usernames of individuals to be authorized to write to the channel.
  2. After you have been notified that your channel has been established, contact Theresa Chamberland for an appointment to review how to use the channel; webhelp@mtholyoke.edu. Or, go to the Faculty Resource Center (in Dwight) to learn how to use the news channel. FRC hours are Monday to Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. If these hours are inconvenient for you, please email ris-d@mtholyoke.edu to make other arrangements.

You can copy these images into your Webspace to use accordingly:
