Faculty Development & Project Consultation
Would you like to learn more about a technology to use in one of your courses or for your research? The LITS Research & Instructional Support team would like to teach you!
We can partner with you to explore:
- setting up alerts to monitor current scholarship
- incorporating news feeds (RSS) in an assignment
- ella, MHC's electronic learning arena
- using wikis to promote collaborative writing
- creating small image collections for student review
- building a citation database in Refworks
- establishing online project sites to gather department materials
- using technology to promote 'close readings' of primary sources
- creating portable bookmarks of your favorite web sites
- social networking sites such as 'My Space' and 'Facebook'
- exploring digital storytelling as an assignment
- and more!

-Contact your LITS Liaison or... Julie Habjan Boisselle, Instructional Services Coordinator (x2795), who will pair you with a LITS Liaison who has relevant knowledge or experience. To get started, please include a brief description of what you would like to explore or work on, as well as 2-3 time periods you are available to meet in the next week or so.
-Or, Drop by the MEWS... The Faculty Development Area of the MEWS is a multimedia-equipped space for faculty to explore new technologies or work on curricular projects. This area provides a dedicated space for faculty to work on their own or to get one-on-one support either by appointment or through the drop-in hours (below). The Faculty Development Area is open for self-service use whenever the LITS complex is open.
Drop-in Hours Staff are available for drop-in support on curricular projects from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on weekdays, whenever classes are in session.
