  • You may choose more than one workshop per form, but please do not choose the same workshop title more than once.
  • Click the Submit Information button at the bottom of page when you have indicated all of your choices.
  • If you can't attend a workshop for which you have registered, please email the teaching team to free your reservation for another student.
  • You MAY receive a courtesy reminder for this workshop, but please make sure to put this event in your calendar immediately.
  • Assume that you are in the workshop unless you get a request for confirmation. If you sign up for a workshop, please check your email for a request for confirmation, then respond. Do not ignore these messages. Don't take the workshop off your calendar until you receive a message that you do NOT have a seat in the course.

Thursday, November 19, 2009 NEW!!
Dreamweaver I: Revisited: 7:15-9pm, Training Room, Dwight 201.
We will review all the basics, including creating urls, internal and external linking,  rollover images, anchors and date options. As time permits, we may include insertion of video clips. Prerequisite: Dreamweaver I using Dreamweaver CS4. You must have taken a Dreamweaver 1 class during Fall 09 to take this class..

Photoshop Basics, 7:30-9pm, Training Room, Dwight 201.
Learn to customize photographs for print or the Web with Photoshop CS4. Covers tools for cropping, shaping, painting, and adding text. If you've never used Photoshop, this is the course for you, especially if you need to get pictures ready for a website!

Dreamweaver I: Creating a Web Page, 7:30-9pm, Training Room, Dwight 201
Explore the possibilities of Web site creation with Dreamweaver CS4! Participants will become familiar with menus, tools and project management capabilities.Receive practical instruction in using Dreamweaver's layout options to create simple pages; topics include modifying existing layouts, inserting and modifying text, creating links, and inserting images and more. This course is the first in a series of Dreamweaver workshops. It is the prerequisite for Dreamweaver II.

Excel Basics, 7:30-9pm, Training Room, Dwight 201.
Covers the basics of Excel, including formatting cells, building formulas, and creating charts and graphs. For the student with no prior experience with Excel.. If you are unsure about whether this is the workshop for you, please check out the Excel Basics handout. Note: Priority given to students in Chem/Biol 160.

Dreamweaver II: Working with Templates, 7:30-9pm, Training Room, Dwight 202.
Learn how to build your Web site more efficiently with templates. Will include a brief review of internal and external linking, as well as covering rollovers, anchors and date options. As time permits, we may include insertion of video clips. Prerequisite: Dreamweaver I or solid preparation in using Dreamweaver CS4, and submission of the assignment found here (click): Check your readiness by reading through the Dreamweaver I workshop handout. Think about, and come prepared to sketch your website design, share it and work from the sketch in this workshop.

Intermediate/Advanced Excel

Further studies in Excel: formatting review, extended formula and charting topics, some data functions (autofilter/sort). Pivot tables NOT covered at this time. Prerequisite: Excel Basics or equivalent experience.. If you are unsure about whether you have the prerequisite, please check out the Excel Basics handout.

Intermediate PowerPoint
, 7:30-9PM, Training Room, Dwight 201
Add those little touches that make a presentation smoke! Learn to package the presentation so you can take it anywhere (almost). Prerequisite: Powerpoint Basics or equivalent experience. The current Powerpoint Basics handout will help you determine whether you're ready for this level.
