Magic at Mount Holyoke: An Exhibition of Primary Sources from Archives, Art Museum & Botanic Garden
January 28, 2010 - February 28, 2010
Whiting Alcove, 6th floor Williston Library
Free and open to the public during regular LITS hours.
Rare and unique treasures highlight the magical elements found right here on campus. Drawn from Mount Holyoke's own collections, bewitching images of science and sorcery, of plants and potions, of creatures and monsters and mysteries from the natural world are on display. See fantastical works from the college Art Museum; marvel at tantalizing specimens from the Biology and Geology departments and the Botanic Garden; and pore over a spellbinding array of volumes—herbals, psalters, astronomical texts, and more—from rare books in Archives and Special Collections.
Visit the exhibit on the sixth floor of Williston Library or online on the Archives and Special Collections website.
The Primary Sources Exhibition is curated by Archives Assistant Nora Mariano, class of 2010.
The following individuals also made this exhibition possible: Jennifer Gunter King (Director, Archives and Special Collections), Marianne Doezema (Director, Art Museum), Ellen Shukis (Director, Botanic Garden), Stan Rachootin (Biological Sciences Department), Gerard Marchand (Geology Department), Caroline J.
