Historical Sketch:
The Class Committees at Mount Holyoke College were established as
a means of dividing the student body into advising groups. A Class
Committee for each year was then subdivided with personal advisors
for each student. The Committees were given the power to grant credit
for summer work or other projects, and the power to expel students
of low standing.
Description of Records:
The records include rules governing the Class Committees, organization
and powers allocated to each Committee, rules for Class Advisors,
and reports submitted by the Committees. Information concerning
election procedures is included. Details describing academic requirements
for the College are also included.
