Historical Sketch:
The Class
Committees were established at Mount Holyoke as a means of advising
students. The Class Committees were composed of faculty members interested
in advising students. The Committees were granted power to grant permission
to student to take greater or fewer credits than the norm, and to
expel students of low standing. The Joint Class Committee was composed
of the four Class Committees.
Description of Records:
The records contain reports written by Class Committee to the faculty.
Information includes statistics on the numbers of students being
tutored and taking greater or fewer credit hours than is the norm,
and all activities planned by the Class Committees.
