Historical Sketch:
The Committee on Scholarships was established at Mount Holyoke to distribute information about existing scholarships, to evaluate applicants, and to keep financial records on the awards. The Committee also focuses on the need for more scholarships due to the increasing tuition.

Description of Records:
The records contain flyers, applications, correspondence, financial statements, and annual reports. Statistics concerning recipients of scholarships are included, as well as descriptions and qualifications for many scholarships. Discussions concerning the increase of tuition and the increased need for scholarships is described.
