Historical Sketch:
The Committee on the Interdepartmental Major was established in 1941 to investigate existing policies, propose a set of guidelines for faculty, and to act as an advisory board to the Academic Dean. The Committee was composed of three faculty members. The Committee recommended that no standard policy be adopted by the College, but that each specific program adapt separately to the needs of the students.

Description of Records:
The records contain one report by the Committee which discusses advising interdepartmental major students, and job prospects for interdepartmental graduates.
