Historical Sketch:
The Committee on the Schedule was established in 1966 to investigate the final exam system at Mount Holyoke College. In 1985, the Committee worked extensively on devising a new pattern of meeting times to more efficiently utilize classroom space and decrease course overlaps. The Committee was composed of faculty members from various departments, administrators, and students.

Description of Records:
The records include a list of recommendations from the Committee, and two reports to the faculty. Limited background of the Committee is described. Information on a self-scheduling proposal for final exams is very detailed, problems under the existing system are defined, and a new pattern of meeting times is outlined.
