Historical Sketch:
The Horticulture Committee was established to provide guidance for an overall horticulture and landscaping plan, and to prioritize College needs. The Committee focused on hiring a landscaping architect to advise the College on changes.

Description of Records:
The records contain memoranda, agendas, correspondence, reports, magazine clippings, notes, pictures of various campuses, and plans for landscape designs for Mount Holyoke. Most information concerns the Committee's hiring of a landscape architect for the College. Old and new plans for landscaping are included, with consideration of a common theme to unite the campus.
