Historical Sketch:
The Task Force on Black Studies was established to review the courses
offered in the Black Studies Department and the requirements for
a Black Studies Major. The Task Force recommended several changes,
including that a year long introductory course be offered entitled
Introduction to the Black Experience in America.
Description of Records:
The records contain memoranda, recommendations, and correspondence.
Information includes a proposed outline for the Core Course in Black
Studies taught by John Grayson, and a detailed outline of recommended
changes to the Black Studies Department and major requirements.
