Historical Sketch:
The Advisory Committee on Community Relations was composed of the
President, Comptroller, Academic Dean, Dean of Residence, Registrar,
Director of Admissions, Field Secretary, Alumnae Secretary, Publications
Editor, Director of the Press Bureau, and alumnae, faculty, and
student representatives. Their primary goals were to make Mount
Holyoke College a more effective part of the community, and a more
well known college.
Description of Records:
The records contain announcements, agendas, correspondence, press
releases, reports, itineraries for community events, and minutes.
Information on the composition of the Committee, activities and
events planned by the Committee, and proposed methods to attract
prospective students, are all included. Records of discussion on
possible uses of the College by outside groups is included.
