Historical Sketch:
The Board of Advisers was composed of the President of the College,
the Dean of the faculty. The Board discussed issues of changing
the curriculum, altering major and minor requirements, altering
general college rules, and discussing issues of low-standing students.
Description of Records:
The records contain annual reports (1910-1911, 1913-1914, and 1939-1940),
minutes, correspondence, memoranda, recommendations, a notebook
containing minutes and a student petition (1898-1899), questionnaires
concerning the curriculum at other colleges and universities, and
lists of suggested changes to be made to the curriculum. Reports
include those made to the Board of Advisers by the Committee on
Low-grade Juniors and Seniors, and the Committee on the Curriculum,
and reports written by the conservative and radical groups within
the Board. The notebook contains minutes and requests from students
to the Board.
