Historical Sketch:
The Committee for International Students was composed of the Dean of Students, Dean of Studies, Associate Dean of International Students, the Registrar, the College Physician, and faculty members. The Committee was established to supervise all International Students at Mount Holyoke College, and to evaluate their progress annually to determine eligibility for fellowships.

Description of Records:
The records contain a list of Committee members, agendas, memoranda, correspondence, minutes, a list of applicants for a renewal of foreign fellowships (1982-1983), a list of students enrolled in the Foreign Fellowship Program with degrees granted from 1971-1982, a list of language fellows (1982-1983), a list of candidates for the Certificate of International Students (1982), a draft for a proposed change in Faculty Legislation, and recommendations from Sweet Briar College, Paris for a student assistant at Mount Holyoke College. Correspondence in support of international students to receive honors is included, as well as financial information on student aid packages and expected contributions from families.
